A website where you answer questions about your life and get your book as a PDF, typeset and ready to print wherever you like.

You get two files, which is what printers ask for: the inside pages and the cover, with the spine width worked out from your page count. A5 size, text in black ink.

$49, one single payment. No subscription, no renewal, no expiry date. We do not charge by the question or by the page, and there is no surcharge if your book runs long.

The price is shown in full before you answer the first question, even though you pay at the end. Whatever tax applies in your country is shown when you pay.

A printed book, when we offer one, will be a separate and optional purchase, never included in this price.

Starting costs nothing and we do not ask for a card up front. You answer, you see your book typeset on screen, and then you decide.

What you pay for is downloading the PDFs.

The sale is made by Paddle.com Market Ltd as the seller of record, who issue your invoice and handle your country's taxes. Heirleaf makes the product; Paddle makes the sale.

Thirty days from payment, no explanation needed, even if you have already downloaded the book. Write to hello@heirleaf.com.

If you are in the European Union you also have the statutory fourteen-day right to withdraw. Downloading the PDF waives that statutory right, as digital content law allows — but our thirty-day guarantee stands regardless, so in practice you are better off.

If the person doing the writing falls ill or dies during the process, write to us. That conversation is had by a person, not a form, and we are not going to answer you with a policy.

Your answers, your recordings and your photographs are yours. We acquire no rights over them.

You give us only the minimum permission needed to provide the service: to store them, to transcribe them if you speak, and to typeset your book with them. That permission ends when you delete your account. It is not perpetual, not transferable, and we cannot pass it to anyone, not even if the company is sold one day.

The PDF you download is yours to do as you like with: print it once or a hundred times, at home or at any printer you choose, give it to your family. There is no copy limit and no permission to ask for.

The book design, the templates, the questions and the Heirleaf name. Buying does not give you rights over them, and they cannot be resold or used to build a similar product.

You buy a code. The person you give it to redeems it, and from then on the book is theirs: you do not see what they write, and we tell them so as well.

The code is valid for at least twelve months from purchase. If nobody redeems it in that time, write to us before it runs out and we will sort it.

Speech transcription gets things wrong sometimes, especially proper names and small villages. That is why you can correct it and why we keep your audio.

The printed result depends on the printer you choose: the paper, its colour and the trim are theirs, not ours. We supply the files in the format print-on-demand printers ask for, and that is where we stop.

We take backups and we are careful, but no service is free of failure. If your book matters to you, and we know it does, download it once you have it.

Spanish law. If you are a consumer, this takes away none of the rights the law of your country of residence gives you.

Changes are published here with their date and apply to later purchases. What you already bought is governed by the terms in force on the day you bought it.
