About Heirleaf
Heirleaf exists because a family's stories are hardly ever lost all at once. They're lost because nobody wrote them down while there was still someone to ask.
What we do differently
- A machine doesn't write your words
- What gets printed is exactly what the person wrote or said. We don't polish it, we don't tidy it up and we don't turn it into handsome prose. If you answer by speaking, a machine transcribes what you said and takes the chapter title from your own words: that is all it does, and you can correct it before it goes into the book. The two biggest products in this field let an AI rewrite in your voice and don't say so on their front page; you can check that for yourself on their help pages.
- One payment, no clock
- $49, once. There is no subscription, no renewal and no window inside which you have to finish. The competition charges by the year and deletes material when it runs out; we couldn't do that if we wanted to, because there is nothing to renew.
- The file is yours and doesn't depend on us
- You download a PDF and print it wherever you like, as many times as you like. If Heirleaf closed tomorrow, your book would still be on your computer and on your shelf. It carries no codes that expire and no links that depend on us still being here.
Meet the founder
Heirleaf was founded by Adriana, and she is the one who reads and answers the emails that come in. When you write with a question there is no help centre behind it: there is a person who knows the whole product, because she made it.
That has a practical consequence worth saying out loud: answers take two days, not two minutes. In exchange, the person answering can decide on a refund or an unusual case without consulting anyone or asking you for proof.
The company
Heirleaf is a product of Finnela Life, S.L. (single-member company), Spanish tax number B93966844, incorporated in Barcelona on 27 August 2026 before a notary. This isn't somebody's weekend app: there is a registered company behind it, with the liabilities and obligations that come with one.
Payment is handled by Paddle, who are the legal seller of the transaction. That's why your bank statement will show “Paddle” and not “Heirleaf”: better to know before you pay than after.
